My Homemade Skater Skirt!~

Yesterday I decided to make myself a skater skirt! I found an amazing tutorial on youtube, which I will link below!~
The material I used for this skirt was actually something i'd won in a competition a while ago! I'm really proud of how it looks, the only thing that is a little annoying about it, is it's a tiny bit short. I mean it's really short.. but I'm going to sew some black lace on the bottom so it looks a little longer ^_^ Anyway, this is what it looks like:

This is the print! I really love it, I think the horses look like they're running in the wind and it's lovely~

I used this zip, which I also won in (the same) competition! I recommend using a long zip if you can, so the skirt is easier to get off and put on. ^_^~

This is how it looks! I used THIS tutorial and I really recommend it! <3

The Art of Dressing Up.

Today I've been watching a lot of Advanced Style videos and getting inspired.
I found this incredible woman, Tziporah Salamon, who teaches classes on The Art of Dressing. Looking at the amazing outfits she has put together has really inspired me and made me think a lot about what I wear.
I've always loved dressing up and creating my own individual style. For me, fashion is more than what you wear, it's what you feel, how you show yourself to the world and most importantly how you feel about yourself. It's not "attention seeking" to dress differently, no, for the most part i believe it is as though you are painting a picture. I feel as though when I'm designing or planning an outfit, it all comes down to how I feel about myself and what I want to create.

Films, magazines, books, art, paintings, runway and photographs can all inspire your outfits, it's never just one thing, it's usually a lot of thought that goes into these outfits and I really appreciate the ladies (and gentlemen) of Advanced Style, because you can tell they put a lot of thought into what they're wearing.

When you dress up, you feel better about yourself. More confident and happy. You really get to be yourself and show others "This is who I am."
And the people who think you look ridiculous? The ones who laugh? Well. They don't understand. And you should feel sorry for them, because you're the one that gets to create a work of art and then wear it. What could be better?

I believe everyone should dress for themselves. If you're happy with what you're wearing and you believe it reflects who you are, don't let anyone tell you different. If you painted a painting and adored it, would you let anyone tell you "That isn't art" ? No! Of course not. Art is what you feel it is, it's what inspires you and gives you confidence. It is your idea of beauty and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, because they are not part of your painting.

So, carry on wearing your oversized earrings,
Your tailored suits and vintage dressing gowns,
Shoes and accessories that are out of this world!
Because you're in charge of your style and your happiness,
And you never know who you could inspire.

Booktube-A-Thon Wrap Up!

Hey friends.
So, Booktube-a-thon ended a couple of days ago and I was a little too busy to make a video.
I'll probably make a video today if I can, though ^_^

Books I read:
✿ The Fault In Our Stars
✿ Catcher In The Rye
✿ One Day

Books I didn't end up reading:
✿ The Casual Vacancy
✿ Harry Potter Audio Book
(It got deleted from YouTube and by then it was too late to do anything about it.)
✿ Persuasion (I gave up reading his one, because I couldn't get into it)

Challenges I completed:
✿ Re-read 1 Book
✿ Read a Classic
✿ Read a book that's been on your shelf forever
(I think I'm just going to count One Day under this one, because it has been on my shelf forever.)

Page Count:
✿ Monday: 303
✿ Tuesday: 50
✿ Wednesday: 100
✿ Thursday: 125
✿ Friday: 80
✿ Saturday: 100
✿ Sunday: 148

I THINK. I didn't record the page count very well.
So, I didn't complete the average of 300 pages a day challenge, which sucks but i found that challenge extremely hard.

Now to add up my page counts.
In the week of Booktube-a-thon, I read a total of:

903 PAGES!!!!

Not bad, not bad at all.

So! I shall be making a video about all of this today, and I'll see you guys in my next post!
Thanks for reading (-:

Hey guys!
So Booktube-a-thon is going SUPER well, it's day 4 and i've finished 2 books and i'm now on my 3rd. Overall, I've read around 577 pages, which doesn't actually sound like very much BUT i am trying v. v. hard ok!!!!
I'm reading One Day by David Nicholls right now and it's amazing, I'm pretty scared to finish it though because I've seen the film so I know how it ends )-:
I've been watching everyone's Booktubeathon videos on youtube and I've literally just realised how behind I am. MORE READING.

Booktube-a-thon Challenge!

Hey guys!
So basically, on youtube, starting July 15th, there's going to be a book marathon/challenge! I for one, am SUPER excited about this. I'm constantly putting off reading so I can spend too much time on the internet and that should definitely stop.
I decided this challenge would be a great way for me to push myself to read the things I've been putting off and encourage me to read everyday, or at least every other day.
For this, there are 7 separate challenges you must complete!
(They're actually optional, but I really wanna try tick all of them off.)

Here are the challenges:

1) read an average of 300 pages a day
2) read a book with over 500 pages
3) re-read one book
4) finish a series/trilogy
5) read a book that’s been on your shelf forever
6) listen to an audiobook
7) read a classic

I haven't decided on all of my books just yet, but I decided to include the ones I'm thinking about reading here:

2 & 5: The Casual Vacancy by J.K Rowling. (still haven't read/finished it this, even though I got it signed by Queen Jo!)
3: The Fault in our Stars by John Green. (I adore this book)
4: ... (I definitely need help on this one??? I have no clue.)
6: If I can get it from my local library, I'm choosing any of the Harry Potters, read by Stephen Fry (because I adore both Harry Potter and Stephen Fry).
7: Persuasion by Jane Austen (my friend sent me this book and I definitely need to read it!)

I'll be making a video as soon as I can, before I start this challenge, and hopefully be doing daily updates! Maybe. Okay, that's all for now!
Thanks for reading~!
Let me know if you're doing the challenge.

Summer VS Autumn & Winter

Good afternoon!
Right now, In England, we're having extremely hot weather.
And I hate it.

I don't mean to be miserable, I really don't! And the sun makes a lot of people happy, so I'm glad about that, it's just... I really wasn't built for this kind of weather.
I mean, that doesn't really make sence, as I'm a Summer baby (I was born in June), I just know that the colder months of Autumn and Winter are where I belong.

So, instead of going outside and enjoying the weather, and adapting. I wrote a list of all the reasons why Autumn and Winter are way better than Summer.

Reasons why autumn/winter is better than summer (◡◡✿)
★ you can have warm drinks like hot chocolate and not feel too hot
☆ you don’t have to bother with sun cream
★ you don’t get sun burnt
☆ you can wear pretty make up without it melting off your face
★ you get to wear big oversized jumpers and look fucking cuuuute~
☆ warm bubble baths after cold days adventuring outside
★ collecting pretty leaves and sticking them in your journal
☆ Halloween & Christmas
★ the beach when it’s covered in snow
☆ wearing pyjamas in the evenings without getting too hot
★ wearing a kigurumi all day long
☆ wrapping up warm and going on adventures
★ going to coffee shops and doodling~
☆ wearing boots and tights
★ you don’t spend all day sweating
☆ hot soup!!!!
★ layered clothing, so you’re all bundled up
☆ sunny days with a cool breeze eeeeek
★ not getting overheated by your laptop )-:
☆ You don't have to worry about putting on a bikini or swimming costume.
★ You get to wear more clothes, which means not feeling like crap about your body all day!

Yuuuuup, those are just some of the reasons why I'd pick Autumn/Winter over Summer any day. Of course the Summer can be good too, like in just one month I am taking a trip to London with my friend Darcy, to go to a Harry Potter convention called LeakyCon. It's gunna be pretty cool.

So, what do you think? Is Summer good or bad in your books?
Let me know :-)

Hi there (-:

✿ Hello there! ✿
I'm Sami Lovegood.
I basically made this blog so that I could follow my friend's new illustration blog, but I thought I'd give it a go. I've had so many blogs in the past that I've neglected, so I'm gunna try my best not to do that with this one.

I like a lot of things, but the thing in life that I probably like the most, is Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

It's a film staring Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey in it, and it's pretty much the best thing ever. Ever since I saw that film, it's become a huge part of who I am.
I can't even describe how much it means to me.
A good friend of mine once told me:

"If someone fictionalized your mind, it would be that movie"

(And he's completely right.)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my blog, I'll be using it as a sort of online journal, which will be nice, I think. I hope you like it.

Thanks for reading.
