University Year 1 Wrap Up :-)

Hello all!!!~ Long time no see!
I wanted to start sharing my artwork through this blog as I'm a fashion student who loves to make art in all forms, really!
As I type this, I'm listening to Disney songs :--)

I recently finished my last ever University project of my first year of University (which is actually my seccond year as I did a foundation year).
Anyway, I finished so early and I find it so weird that I'm done... So I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite things I've done this year in a big arty blog post!
I hope you enjoooy :~)

This is my final garment for my final project! It's a draped dress and it does look better in real life, I swear. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the shirt I made for my second project, which is what I'm really proud of.
I'll make sure I take a picture of it next time I go home. :--)

Here's just a quick sum up of my projects:

Project 1: Chosen Theme/Artist: Mark James Porter
Mini project: Monster Mash
Project 2: Chosen Theme/Artist: Ophelia (Shirt project)
Project 2: Chosen Theme/Artist: Tibet ( Drape project)

Random thoughts for Valentine's Day, 2015.

First things first, look at my wonderful new banner !!!
I made it on PicMonkey b/c I am a pro.

Anyway, Valentines day is tomorrow, well actually it's like in less than an hour and the only reason I think a lot about this ~special~ day in February is because of my favourite film, y'know, the one this blog is named after 'n stuff. I don't even know why but it just kinda makes me happy? 'Cause I have another connection to the film and I feel like it's kinda cool to feel connected to something that's so special to me (???).

I feel like I should dye my hair blue or something, just y'know.. because.
Actually I was thinking of dying it red again, (as I type this I have red dye on my fingers) 'cause I have lots of red dye left and ~why not. It might look silly with my suuuper grown out roots but that's okay :~)

So other than my mind being stuck in that film with joel's words echoing in my mind, I've also been completely obsessed with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I started watching it last month and I'm already on Season 5. I basically watch it everyday, b/c if I don't I can't funtion. I need my daily dose of Willow Rosenberg (my all time fav !!)

I mean, I loved her as soon as I saw her (her style, personality and I just really like the actress) but then she starts getting into Witchcraft at which point I'm just like "Heck. Yeah". Witchy girls are my favourite. I just really wanna be a Witch.

I also have this weird crush on Giles ((I dunno, I'm weird?? It's not my fault he's cute ok))

So, since Willow is my favourite I've been wearing stuff that reminds me of her (dungarees, cool jumpers, chokers, etc). I have actually been wanting a pair of long trouser dungarees (is that even what you'd call them?) for a heck of a long time (I only owned shorts-ones) and I was SO lucky because the 3rd years in my University were having a clothes sale to raise money for their fashion show and look what I found !!

Craaaazy, And what's even crazier is I got these for £1 !!!!!!!
I also got a super cool jumper (on the right) and a tartan shirt and some funky tights. I love second hand clothes so much. (Everything was a pound each, how rad.)

Another thing I've been obsessed with is tattoo chokers (and I kinda want to dress like it's the 90's, so that's the direction my style is going in currently in case you were wondering ;~) )

So, yup! I ordered a rainbow one from Ebay, I'll show you when it arrives. I hope it looks good :~)

I think that's all I wanted to talk about. I kinda had lots to say and I this was easier than making a vlog (although I really want to make one soon).

PS. Go listen to Florence + The Machine's new song, it's the best thing ever!

Happy V-Day !

University Induction Week

Hello my lovelies!
Seeing as my first week back at University (well, my induction week) is now over, I thought I'd blog about it! I haven't really had a chance to vlog about it but hopefully I'll be able to do that next week sometime!)

On Monday I went in feeling nervous and to be honest I wasn't really looking forward to starting my first proper year of Fashion. But that was just my nerves, as soon as I got in and saw my friends I was happy to be there. We had a lecture about what 1st year of Fashion would be like, which was interesting and exciting and scary!
I think the main thing that scares me is the work placement we have to do in second year. I just hope I'm braver next year than I am right now.
Then, after that we found out what groups we were in for the year. I was so heartbroken about not being in the same class as my two closest friends. I'm so used to seeing them almost everyday in class, it will be sad to not have them there. But I have some wonderful friends in my group (Group C), both old and new! And I'll still be able to see my friends at lunch and during the 'ALL GROUPS' activities.

On Tuesday, I actually didn't have to go in for anything, so I just worked on my summer project!

On Wednesday, we had our project briefing which was super cool! I'm very excited to start a new sketchbook and do lots of research and drawings! Our first project is Sculptures!
Very interesting.

On Thursday, I went to the cinema in town and met up with the rest of my class and our tutors to watch the film 'Advanced Style'. This was the day I was most excited for, I have been following the Advanced Style blog for years now, adoring the inspiration I get from looking at all the incredible outfits put together by ladies (and sometimes men) 60+.
The film did not disappoint and at the end my class even clapped! I felt so happy that the others had enjoyed it as much as me! My friend sitting next to me even compared me to one of my favourite ladies in the film which made me smile.

On Friday, we had to bring in our Summer projects. I was nervous about this as I had worked really hard on mine, I had spent almost all of August and some of September putting together my sketchbook. Drawing, designing, painting, etc. I put a lot of effort into it, basically.
But when it came to showing it to the class, we were just asked to put it on the table and move around, looking at each person's by flicking through ourselves. At the end, the tutors chose a few books to talk about. Mine was not chosen. And that was it...
I didn't get any feedback from my tutors or from any of my classmates, and it felt like I had worked really hard for no reason at all. As you can probably tell I'm still quite upset.
But that's that.

Overall it was a really good first week getting settled back in. I met so many new people who I hope I can call my friends. I even met someone who is interested in costumes just as much as me!

Also, I am completely in love with the transition to Autumn. I only wish it wasn't so warm (what is up with this weather?) and I wish there wasn't so many spiders (I'm terrified)

I'll leave you with a picture of this beautiful witch's cat I've been friends with since last year when I met him. :---)

(Hey look, it's Salem!)

Thank you for reading!!~

Happy September!

Happy 1st of September!!~
This month will hopefully be very exciting and fun! Lets see what happens!
I'm super excited because this month means the beginning of Autumn, the absolute best season!
I'm looking forward to beautiful autumn colours all around me + rainy days.

I am moving back to Uni on Thursday 4th which is pretty terrifying fun!
And, I'm very excited about Saturday 6th as it is the day I go see Kate Bush! I feel sick with nerves because I'm going alone, but I hope it will be as much fun as possible! Just being in the same room as Kate Bush, I mean.. wow!

Now, here's some cute Animal Crossing pictures to sum up my August!
